Our THUMP Boxing sessions are currently held either at our home studio or at Red Rocks Beach every Saturday at 9:30 am.
We love our THUMP Boxing sessions as it's a great fitness tool for longevity. It works balance, coordination and reaction time, endurance and power, all things that decline as we age, and it also gives us a fantastic workout.
THIS IS NOT A FIGHT CLUB - Let’s be clear, we are not teaching self-defence, just using the vehicle of boxing in a safe and controlled manner, and in a non-threatening environment to enhance our member’s health and fitness. By omitting a lot of the technicalities, as long as you’re safe you can really focus on having fun in the sessions.
STAY SAFE AND INJURY FREE - Our THUMP Boxing is our modality of choice for cardiovascular training as it is a lot friendly to the joints as opposed to other forms like running, which can be quite hard on the lower body joints like ankles and knees and adds variety to your overall training program because it distributes a load of training across various body parts.
A UNIQUE FITNESS ALTERNATIVE - Fitness boxing makes it possible to train both endurance and power in the same workout.
Muscular endurance strength (slow twitch muscle) is trained with high-repetition boxing combinations.
Speed and power strength (fast twitch muscle) are developed by incorporating plyometric and ballistic exercises into drills.
Punching and hitting things is fun, relieves stress and improves self-confidence and self-esteem! Mental robustness also comes from learning to cope with the demands of a challenging workout. What other forms of fitness training offer psychological as well as physiological benefits?
